Technology Approach

Origin Quantum is the flagship quantum computing company in China’s national quantum strategy. Based in Hefei (China’s quantum science hub, home to USTC), the company builds superconducting quantum processors and provides cloud access through its Origin Quantum Cloud platform.

The Origin Wukong 72-qubit processor is notable for being used to fine-tune a billion-parameter AI model — an early demonstration of quantum-classical hybrid workflows for machine learning.
